Machinery Loading & Unloading Services

The most dangerous minutes of a machine's trip are the ones at each end — getting it onto the truck and getting it off. We load and unload machinery with high-capacity forklifts, rigging gear, and crews who check the weight, the center of gravity, and the fork position before anything lifts.

Quick answer: Machinery loading and unloading is the lifting of machines, crated freight, and industrial equipment on and off trucks and containers — typically with high-capacity forklifts, cranes, or rigging gear. Badass Logistics loads and unloads heavy equipment as rigging work: weights and centers of gravity verified, forklifts sized to the real load, and crews that can take the equipment into the building and set it.

A forklift is only as safe as the math behind it

Every forklift has a rated capacity, and that number only holds at a specific load center. Push the weight farther out on the forks — a long crate, an off-center machine, fork extensions — and real capacity drops fast. That's how machines end up on the ground and forklifts end up on their noses. Most loading accidents aren't bad luck. They're a weight nobody verified and a center of gravity nobody found.

We treat loading and unloading as rigging work, not just a lift truck and an operator. Before the lift, the crew confirms the weight, finds the center of gravity, checks where the equipment can be supported, and matches the forklift and attachments to the load. On the truck, freight is positioned for its weight and secured. At the other end, the same care takes it off.

Because we're a rigging company, unloading doesn't have to stop at the tailgate. The crew can take the machine through the door on skates, into position, and set it on its pad — or stage it until the floor is ready.

What we check before the forks go under

Heavy loading and unloading comes down to a short list of questions that have to be answered every time:

When a forklift isn't the right tool — the load is too heavy, too tall, or can't be reached — we switch to a crane or jacks, rollers, and skates.

Matching the forklift to the job

Not all forklifts belong on every site. The load decides the capacity, and the ground decides the tires:

Cushion-tire forklifts

Compact machines for smooth indoor concrete, tight aisles, and moving freight inside warehouses and plants.

Pneumatic and rough-terrain forklifts

For outdoor lots, gravel, and uneven ground at job sites and dock-less deliveries.

High-capacity forklifts

Larger machines with longer forks and more counterweight for heavy machinery, long crates, and loads with an extended load center.

Container work

Heavy pieces inside containers often come out on rollers or skates pulled to the door, where a forklift can pick them safely. See container to warehouse.

Loading & unloading FAQ

Do you rent forklifts?
No. We provide loading and unloading as rigging work — crew, forklift, and rigging gear matched to the load — rather than equipment rental.
Can you unload heavy equipment without a loading dock?
Yes. We unload from open-deck and enclosed trailers at ground level with forklifts, rigging gear, or a crane, depending on the load and the site.
Why does forklift capacity drop with long loads?
Rated capacity is given at a specific load center. When the load's center of gravity sits farther out on the forks, the forklift can safely lift less. That's why we verify weight and center of gravity first.
Can you unload a machine from a shipping container?
Yes. Heavy pieces are rolled or skated to the door and picked there, after checking the container floor rating. See container to warehouse.
Can you move the equipment into the building too?
Yes. The crew can take it through the door on skates, set it in position, and level it — or stage it until the floor is ready.
